A Challenge for Men

No Shave November is a phrase that is often heard around this time of year. No Shave November originally started as a challenge to men. Stop shaving and getting haircuts and donate the savings to cancer research. It’s a worthwhile endeavor. Maybe some of you will take that challenge this year. However, I want to challenge our men in a different direction this November. I want to challenge you to examine your life as a follower of Christ. I want to challenge you to think about what it means to be a man of God. Perhaps you’ve lost ground in the past few months. The fire that you once had for Jesus has cooled. This is no time to accept spiritual mediocrity. This is no time to lead your family in the wrong direction. This is the time to stand up and live as a man of God. Every weekday in November, I will post a brief thought that will challenge you to be a real man who follows Jesus. We are called to follow Jesus. Let’s make that a priority this month. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). There are no acceptable excuses for anything less than the passionate pursuit of Christ. In fact, let’s make this a No Excuse November.
